Blokus Tournament #2
Our first tournament was so successful and fun, requests for a 2nd tournament were made. All students who wanted to take part in the tournament were able to sign up. Currently, we have completed our first round of the tournament. We will begin the second round of the tournament this week. All students have been so great throughout the competition. They have been supportive of one another and congratulatory when others win! Yay, good sportsmanship!

Blokus Tournament
(We will have a March Madness Bracket for our Tourney.)
The two fifth grade magnet classes are competing in a Blokus Tournament with Mrs. Norling. There will be a bracket for each homeroom. There will be a winner from each homeroom. Then, the two winners will play the two teachers at the end of the tournament to find the ultimate student winner.
Blokus is such a fun board game. It is my favorite game (Mrs. N). I will paste the description and Amazon item # button below.
About Blokus
- The XL game board measures 12 x 12 inches – almost 2 inches larger than the regular game!
- Perfect strategy game for the whole family -less than a minute to learn with fun challenges for all ages!
- Players take turns placing their 21 pieces on the board: each piece must touch another of the same color, but only at the corners!
- Stake your claim and protect your territory by fitting as many of your pieces on the board as possible while strategically blocking your opponents!
- The game ends when no more pieces can be placed down, and the player with the lowest number remaining wins!
Hanby Fifth Grade Families,
This is the LAST CALL for 5th grade baby pics. In order to be included in this year's yearbook, all submissions must be turned in to me NO LATER THAN 4 p.m. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10.
Your picture should be sent electronically (digital photo or scanned photo) and emailed to [email protected] no later than Friday, February 10 for inclusion in 2022-23 Hanby Elementary yearbook.
- Please DO NOT send in hard copy photos. HR Imaging can only accept digital files. Please scan or forward an existing digital photo of your favorite fifth grader as a baby.
- Please DO NOT send photos to your student's teacher. Photos should be emailed to [email protected]. Photos sent to teacher emails may not be included in this year's edition.
- Please include your Student's Name and Homeroom Teacher in the email subject line when submitting your photo to [email protected] (Ex: Beth Mulick - Norling)
- Please be sure to send photos in no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, February 10. A flash drive with all submitted photos will be sent to HR Imaging on Monday, February 13 at the end of the school day. Late photos will miss HR Imaging's deadline and will not be included in this year's book. Please don't miss out on this fun way to celebrate how much our fifth graders have grown and changed!
We have more than 80 fifth grade students and to date I have only received 25 baby pictures. Please send them in TODAY!
Thanks,
Beth Mulick
CLASS DONATIONS
Our students love flexible seating in our classrooms. Some of our items are aging, falling apart, and need to be replaced. We would appreciate any donations. Links to images and websites of the items that we would like for our students are below. We do not need the exact items that are listed, but I wanted to include the pictures to give you a better idea. Gently used items would also be great! Large - Extra large throw pillows would also be a nice addition. Thank you for your support!
